Make a scrapbook – it’s easy!

It seems like the month of February has been a month of family get-togethers. What with all the birthdays we celebrate this month, I guess it’s no wonder. This weekend was no exception. My youngest brother Johnny and his family could not make it out, so they sent his in-laws, Bob and Carole Oelke here to get away from the sub-zero temps and hoary frost of Wisconsin. (Wink! Wink!) My brother Bobby also decided to make the trek from Chicago for a quick visit. We know that everyone was really just coming to see Ann and Chris’s newest addition, Christopher Brady, but that’s okay. We all enjoyed the food, fun and good fellowship. I couldn’t resist creating another Smilebox to capture the event. My only regrets are that we did not have enough time together and that we didn’t meet the Oelke’s sooner. What a wonderful couple they are! Such warm and caring people. We are blessed to have them in our family.

Make a scrapbook – it’s easy!

Last Saturday, Feb 9, our son Jeremy turned 26.  We had a bash at our home for him.  This will be the last time he is home for his birthday.  Next year at this time, Jeremy will be a married man.  And the mantle will fall on Molly to give him a birthday party!  We love our son and are so proud of the man he has become; a sensitive young man who loves God, loves people and loves life.  Happy Birthday Jeremy.  We love you deeply!  Mom & Dad

God is quite popular on Sunday.  Millions of people around the world stop what they’re doing to visit a building where the sole purpose is to meet with others to worship, sing, and learn about God.  But then Monday rolls around.  What place does God have in their lives then?  When the emphasis is on a thousand other things, they can easily go all week without considering Him.

Where did we get the idea that God wants our attention only on Sunday?  Certainly not from the apostle Paul, who said we are to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17) –a sure sign that God is listening on Monday through Saturday too.  Paul also wrote, “Rejoice always” (V. 16), which indicates that we shouldn’t stop singing just because the organ stops playing.

Sunday is a special day to give direct attention to God.  But don’t forget Monday!  __J.D.B. (Taken from Our Daily Bread)

Worship God on Sunday, then walk with Him on Monday.
