No photographer was there to capture this incredible event, as it occurred under cover of darkness this past Friday night. But we all heard the humming sound when Mike flipped on the switch that activated the water pump. Within seconds we could hear the sounds of running water as it cascaded down each stone tier into the pond….Heartspring Pond, as we named it. With the flashlight, we were able with our limited night vision to view our two falls merrily skipping down the stones and abandoning themselves over the rock precipice down into our little pond below. We looked forward to the next day when we could photograph our new falls.
Saturday dawned dreary and rainy. It showered all day, and the pond ran as well. This was not a good picture-taking moment. But today, Sunday, arrived in golden sunshine and illuminated our little pond and falls with radiant light. After months of planning and toiling, Mike and Jeremy can now rejoice in the work of their hands…Heartspring falls are running! Much thanks to all those who helped with digging and moving the big stone.
The new music we now hear outside our family room door and windows is a song no musician could compose. We almost feel like we’re in Yosemite by the Merced River or near Happy Isles when we listen to our falls running. What is it about running water that calms the spirit and ushers in tranquility? Caleb’s daughter must’ve sensed it too, for she asked her father for a blessing; in addition to the property he had given her, she requested springs of water. And being the generous father that he was, he gave her the upper and lower springs (Joshua 15:17-19). Of course water is necessary to sustain life, and best of all, it quenches our thirst.
Jesus spoke of water to a Samaritan woman who was drawing from a well. He said, …”Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:13-14) In another place, He said, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive…(John 7:37-39).
I remember a time in my life where I was so empty inside. My soul was thirsty and dry. But Jesus came into my life and filled me with His Spirit. And it was indeed like a well springing up into eternal life! Nothing can satisfy soul thirst like being filled with the Spirit of God. Now I’m drinking from a well that will never run dry!

Karen, your pond is beautiful! I agree with you, there is just something soothing about the sound of running water. It is refreshing in itself. That is what it was like last night in service. I found what I was looking for. A new hieght in Him. A deeper and closer walk with Him. A refreshing in the Holy Ghost. My thirsty soul drank from the wells of living waters last night and the thirst has been quinched. My cup if full and running over and my soul if full of joy and all I can do is sit here and shed tears of joy. I appreciate you sister so much for your prayers. Though you didn’t know what I was battling in my soul, and I don’t really know what I was battling myself, yet you were praying for me and God came on the scene and delivered me. Victory is mine. I am open to the wil of God for my life and I am hungry to do a work for Him. I so want to go beyond to ordinary service for the Lord. I do love Him so.
Thank for such a beautiful post. It was refreshing to my soul.
Jolene:
I am so happy that you were refreshed and renewed. One of my favorite old church songs is “Higher Ground”. Do you know that one?
“I’m pressing on the upward way
New heights I’m gaining every day
Still praying as I’m onward bound
Lord plant my feet on Higher Ground
Lord lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Heaven’s tableland.
A higher plane than I have found
Lord plant my feet on higher ground.
Love & Prayers,
Karen
Oh Keek! I just wish I could drive over right now and dip my tootsies in the waterfall. I know where I’m going when I need a Yosemite fix. I’m glad you’ve been blessed not only with running water but living water!

Amen Sissy! You come any time, and we’ll dip our tootsies.
Very, VERY nice! It could be in a home-improvement magazine! I like how it’s at the base of the redwood trees. Yes, it looks like a miniature mountain retreat.
Okay, here’s a suggestion: After I have my “Blogging BBQ” at my house, YOU can have one at your house. You know, we all must see that waterfall in person. Okay? Love you!
WOW!!! What a relaxing place to be! Beautiful.
Thank you Rochelle. Yes, it is quite relaxing in our yard…kind of like a vacation retreat. We love sitting out there.
Hi Tena, thanks for stopping by. Okay, it’s a deal! We’ll have to have a blogging BBQ at my place next year so everyone can see the waterfall and dip their toes in the pond. Way Cool.
Love you too!
Love, the fountains they look so refreshing .
Thank you!
How Pretty! I can’t wait to see it. Maybe then I’ll be able to convince my hubby to do my little waterfall that I want. We are landscaping our backyard and I told him I wanted a “little” waterfall and he groaned. So you never know, he may be so in awe that he will grant me my wish. LOL!
It truly is breathtaking. I know you and the family will enjoy many peaceful days and evenings out there.
God Bless & Love YOU!!!!
Eva:
I’m sure Mike and Jeremy could give Paul some tips and pointers if he wants to try doing a waterfall. I’m sure that there are probably kits you can buy that might be easier than building one from scratch like they did. Mike wanted it customized, and since we could not find a contractor who would do it for us, one day Jeremy told his Dad, “Let’s do it ourselves”. And they did! You guys will have to come over sometime to see it. Maybe that will inspire Paul.
Looking forward to seeing you guys on Thanksgiving!
Love ya,
Karen
Hey Auntie,
Love it! Can’t wait to see it in person! Have you tried giving Abby a bath in it? Ha ha ha!
Hi Jenga:
Would love for you to see it in person! Well, it’s a little too cold now for Abby to take a bath in it. Maybe in the summer. Grandma did go out there Saturday morning and dipped her toes in it for the first time! See you on Thanksgiving!
Love,
Aunt Kiki
Awesome header photo! Love it!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and may God bless you and your family. Love you!
Tena, Thanks for the compliment. Glad you liked it. Mike bought that pumpkin a couple of years ago. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well.
Love you!
