On Memorial Day Weekend, we had a big bash at our little house. Our good friends, Joe and Darlene, along with their kids Amber & Joey came out to California for a visit after leaving the golden state almost 24 years ago. Darlene had called me back in February to let me know they were coming. She thought it would be nice to see some of the people they were close to when they lived here. And that’s how this reunion came about. There were upwards of 20 people that came, including a surprise visit from Lydia Miraflor Thompson, my spiritual mother. I lived with Lydia (Mom) for about six months when I first moved to California. She still calls me her adopted daughter. What a blessing she was to me when I first came to California as a young, 18-year-old many years ago. She is 81 and still going strong. We had a wonderful time with all and hated to see everyone leave.  But we all carry in us the precious memories of a wonderful time of laughter, good food and fellowship.   What a blessing it is to have good friends.
