I believe that within every person, there is an emptiness or void that can only be filled by God Himself. But until we realize this, we try to fill that hollow place with so many things to satisfy the desire. Some of the things I sought after to fill my void were relationships, possessions and hobbies. For others it’s travel, career, money, power. The list goes on. But when I opened my heart to the Saviour, and He filled me with His Spirit, what a wonderful change took place in me. The void was gone, and the desire fulfilled! He gave me so much. He still does. Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. The Bible says that in His presence is fullness of joy. When the wise men saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy! So this Christmas, as you’re opening gifts, remember the greatest gift of all; Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring. All that we desire is fulfilled in Him. He is our joy.

I’ve heard the music before, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the words to Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring. They are beautiful! Truly, Jesus is the only one that makes life worth the living. I’m thankful He filled that empty place in my heart too, when I received the Holy Ghost. God is so good!

Thanks for the words. I downloaded ‘Jesu Joy’ from Itunes this Christmas with Josh Grogan singing it! Also some of the Hallelujah Chorus! What an awesome Christmas I had, worshiping and exalting and living in the Glory of Gods Uncreated Light! My spirit ascended there where He is and where I will one day be for Eternity! In the meantime I can bring from Heaven to Earth His Presence and His Glory though worship.
